Since its March 2005 establishment, A&Z Engineering has made significant contributions to the civil engineering community in Northern Indiana. A&Z’s staff is qualified to complete all facets of civil engineering, with extensive experience involving municipalities, governmental entities and the private sector. In addition to solely completing engineering design, our firm has the capability to perform construction inspection and administration services. This allows A&Z to be the natural choice for projects, from inception to culmination.
At A&Z we understand the importance of each project to its community. Our professional design team has a more 150 combined years of transportation experience and is committed to the success of your projects. It is this experience and understanding that develops successful projects for all our clients.
The A&Z design team includes three Professional Engineers (P.E.) with more than 50 years of combined experience in preparing design plans for all types of projects, especially those receiving federal funding. These design engineers have led countless projects involving Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and Local Public Agencies (LPA) funding. The staff also includes two E.I. engineers both whom have achieved a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering. This combination of staffing ensures a breadth and depth of engineering knowledge. This advanced education expertise coupled with seasoned engineers and designers ensures that all A&Z projects are completed more effectively and efficiently.
A&Z Engineering has also built a solid Construction Inspection staff that includes four INDOT qualified Resident Project Representatives (RPR). The inspection staff also includes three other members qualified to perform the required material testing and general construction oversight throughout the construction process.
Jamal Anabtawi
Jamal is the co-owner and director of business development for A&Z. Jamal is an Indiana and Ohio licensed Professional Engineer and a Tri-State University Graduate. Jamal has more than 24 years experience in construction inspection/and management for federally aided projects. His responsibilities includes business development, maintaining client relationships, and assisting clients in pursing funds for their projects.
Jamal works hand-in-hand with local agency representatives such as Mayors, Councils, and County Commissioners on identifying what the community needs are, analyzes, assesses, and scopes the work in conjunction with their Engineers, Supervisors, and staff. Jamal also plans and identifies sources of financial assistance for public agencies especially small communities to do roadway improvement projects.
During the past 24 year Jamal has worked with many communities in the surrounding Fort Wayne area and developed close and trusting relationships with them. Jamal has assisted many of those communities in their transportation planning and addressed their transportation needs.
Warren Zwick
Warren is the co-owner and the engineering manager for A&Z. Warren is an Indiana licensed Professional Engineering since 1991, and a Purdue University Graduate. Warren has over 22 years of experience including a broad range of projects for both public and private clients, local, state and federal agencies all with varied funding sources. Warren is currently responsible for project development and performance for all projects.
Warren has worked on many civil and transportation projects including: infrastructure improvements, roadway reconstruction and rehabilitation, intersection improvements, traffic signalization, trailways, and public transit facilities.
His varied project and design experience includes: transportation planning, cost estimating, engineering studies and reports, traffic control and phasing, conducting public meetings and hearings, utility coordination, budget and schedule control, permitting, right-of-way engineering, bid documents, and construction administration.
