This Pedestrian Bridge was design by Engineering Resources, Inc. and inspected and administered by A&Z Engineering LLC. The bridge spans 465 feet over the St Joseph River. This bridge will facilitate access to the students of IPFW to the new Holiday Inn hotel for conferences and classes, and will also play a vital role in the River Greenway Trail system throughout Fort Wayne. This 3-span pedestrian bridge is a state of the art cable stayed-steel girder bridge. The project also includes lighting for the entire bridge, and a couple hundred feet of sidewalk on the east end of the bridge. A&Z was responsible for all of the on-site material testing, which included several hundred cubic yards of concrete and steel encased concrete piles for the foundation. A&Z was also responsible for the coordination between INDOT, IPFW, Engineering Resources and the Contractors. Upon completion, final records were also compiled by our construction inspection team.
