Center Lake Trail
Warsaw, IN
Warsaw’s Center Lake Recreational Trail included a series of strategic design and engineering improvements. Building on the area’s existing amenities, A&Z transformed the waterfront with a boardwalk-style deck. The project also involved reconfiguring pathways to trails that improve scenic views and connectivity, installing additional seating and lighting, and upgrading drainage near the tennis courts. Two piers were also designed for this project to accommodate boating and fishing. These have not yet been constructed.
Key Elements
- Boardwalk: Conversion of abandoned pump house into a boardwalk-style deck and attached fishing pier
- Trail and Sidewalk: Removal of existing sidewalks to create a trail that improves scenic views and connectivity to amenities. A seat wall was installed along the trail for designated relaxation areas.
- Safety: Concrete lifeguard chair pads with piles near the beach area and relocation of decorative lighting.
- Drainage and Landscape Upgrades: Improved drainage systems around the existing tennis courts to prevent water accumulation and enhance recreational usability.
