Improving Safety with Roundabout Design and Roadway Realignment
This project will improve the Monroeville Road and Wayne Trace intersection by installing a single lane roundabout and changing the horizontal alignment of Brunson Road to intersect Wayne Trace at 70°. Monroeville Road is an east/west county road classified as a major collector and consists of a travel lane in each direction. Wayne Trace is a north/south county road classified as a minor collector and consists of two 10-ft wide asphalt travel lane in each. Brunson Road is a north/south county road, classified as a local road and meets Wayne Trace at a “Y” intersection with an undesirable angle of 66°.
